Steamboat Rock State Park Fishing
« on: April 10, 2018, 04:16:19 PM »

Hello,

Taking a big group of Boy Scouts to Steamboat Rock State Park next weekend and was wondering how the shore fishing is there. We are not taking boats due to the two of us that have them won't be able to take them (I am towing the scout supply trailer) so will only be able to bank fish. Any pointers would be appreciated, PM if you don't want to broadcast to everyone.

Thanks

LOTS of bank to fish from at Steamboat.  It is hit or miss, but I can honestly say that I have never been skunked fishing there, and have caught trout, bass, walleye, carp, perch, sunfish and pretty much everything else in that lake from the shores of the campground.  Funny coincidence, my family will be camping there the same weekend for my birthday.  I will keep my eyes out for a group of scouts and come say hello.  Good luck.

Hopefully if the wind is blowing it’s blowing in a northern direction, it will get those lines out there!
