PDW UPDATE!
« on: April 24, 2018, 06:38:04 AM »
Finally got this thing up and running over the weekend. New BCG, new Gas block and new handguard. Once I got the gas block dialed in it ran 100%. The handguard never got too hot to hold even with the flash-can under it. but doing mag dump after mag dump it will get hot. I did 1 30rd mag dump to see and I could feel the heat starting to rise in my hand but never got too hot. all in all I'm very pleased, onto the next project...AR10!!!!

Thanks again everyone for your help!

How was the accuracy when you dumped that 30 rounds?

Accuracy in general when I sighted it in was surprising. The PDW stock doesn't lend itself to a good consistent cheek weld but I was bouncing a soup can around really easy so not bad for a 7" barrel. on the 30rd mag dump....it was minute of bad guy lol. I kept them all in the chest cavity area but this thing is a little more bouncy than other AR's I have shot. To me this AR's is not a "zombie, SHTF, GTW" type set up, its got a niche' purpose. I would like to put a 8" plate at 100 yards though and see if I can hit it reliably off hand.

Nice.

How do you like the magpul drums?

Ive only run it a couple times (60 rounds each lol) but had 100% function. The size is great but the weight will get you off guard the first time. had a full drum from the low ready, tried moving and hitting steel, threw my first few shots. takes some getting used to but hell if you miss the first couple shots you have 58 more lol!
