Giant BC Rocky Mountain Ram

I don't know if it's too much to ask, but I don't quite understand how you guys are counting the rings.  What exactly qualifies as a ring and what doesn't.  I can see how you could count far more than 10 rings on the right side of this particular ram.  Is there any way someone could do an edit to highlight where the rings are to give me a better idea of how to correctly count them?  That way, I can compare a side-by-side picture - one without the edits and one with the edits to gain a better understanding of this.

9 or 10.  Incredible ram.

I tried to point some out.  Some have 2 rings in one year.  They will be within an inch of each other though.  I had to add them up by looking at 4 pictures at different angles.  There isn't one shot that can show them all with this ram...

One other thing...  Sometimes there is a small indent where the year mark is.  If the lighting isn't right sometimes I look for that.  They get closer and closer together near the base and get more difficult.  Then you add in a double ring year and it can get confusing.

We have had some rams approaching 200" in WA.  If we get the domestic sheep out of Hells Canyon and fix our sheep herd down there we could expect 190-200" bighorns out of there every year...

I thought there might be one more between 4 and 5 from the skull  like you said, hard to tell

I thought there could be too until I compared with the horns from the rear angle...  I think that was just a good growth year?

Have you guys seen the Rams from Colorado that live in the gravel pit?  Both are over 200.
