Do's and Dont's of Carbon wrapped Barrels?
« on: May 12, 2018, 07:45:32 PM »
This is the first Carbon wrapped barrel I have ever owned.  Are there any do's or dont's to consider when shooting, caring for, cleaning, etc.

Thanks for any info.

Johnny

Proof research or a Christensen ?

I handle it the same as I do my stainless rifles. I Have not seen any negatives when doing this.
A remarkable experience is one where the pain is forgotten so quickly, the frustrations and struggles are forgotten the minute you’re done.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

Care shouldn’t be any different than steel barrels.

Just send all the ammo through it then reload and repeat!

Just watch overheating.  They cool fast but also mask the heat so if you go nuts you could be overheating the inside without knowing it.

If you get a barrel cooler you can measure the temp of the air coming out and compare that to your other rifles to get an idea of what you are dealing with.

I wouldn't slather a lot of solvent or oil on it either.

My only concern would be a exposing the exterior to some of the stronger solvents. The manufacturer may have a list of chemicals which could damage the carbon fiber wrap.

Just send all the ammo through it then reload and repeat!

That's one of my favorite shirts I designed!
