Entiat River
« on: July 18, 2018, 01:05:55 PM »
Going to be taking my boys with me scouting for my late hunt. Last trip over the Entiat river looked amazing. Wondering if anyone has fished it and if its worth taking my boys down to drop a line. If thats a waste of time where is a spot near Entiat to take the boys fishing without bringing a boat over. Thanks in advance.

You can definitely have a good time with them in the open section above Entiat Falls, expect small raibow and brook trout.  Also up the Entiat River trail to Myrtle lake, but check trail conditions first with the Entiat RD.  Myrtle is mainly brookies.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Chucking hardware from shore at Lake Chelan can be a pretty good time too, for rainbows and cuts.  I once saw a couple of young girls catch a 20" landlocked king while casting off the dock at 25 Mile Creek State Park, but you certainly can't count on catching them. I am partial to blue and silver or orange and silver Kastmaster spoons.

Good info the bulk of the trip will be in the hills learning roads and draws but i want to give the boys a break once it starts getting warm.
