Anyone hunted Lowman Idaho area for late season deer?
« on: September 06, 2018, 07:46:54 AM »
I drew a Nov. 10-30 muzzy late buck tag for units 33-35 in Idaho. Did some scouting this weekend and plan on hunting near Lowman the week of Thanksgiving. Just throwing this out there to see if anyone has any experience is this area and what its like that time of year. Any info is much appreciate...Thanks!

A buddy draws a permit there every couple of years.  Used to be trophy bucks in snow years but he says the wolves have done a number on the deer in recent years.  Still bucks around, just not as many as before.  Pray for snow.  Take a quad or snowmobile.

I'm told the elk herds are beginning to rebound in that area since wolves have been hunted and numbers reduced some. Deer took another hit two winters ago though.

I had heard it was getting good again until last year, I'm sure it was because of winterkill.  Probably be awhile before it gets good again.
