I made 1 a few years ago. It sounds OK at best (problem may be between the call and the ground though). I believe the bones in a hen are supposed to be the best for sound. Mine was made w/ a tom's wing. I have a wing from a real young fall bird a shot a couple years ago that I plan to make into 1 sometime... maybe this winter.

I made one last year out of a small tom's wing as well. It is really pretty easy, and the yelps sound great.

They're pretty easy. There are a bunch of website out there that explain how to make one. Google "wingbone yelper".
