Holster recommendations?
« on: December 24, 2018, 04:59:23 PM »
Just picked up a new to me pistol, (from forum member ckr, good guy!) looking for holster recommendations. I like the gunfighters inc, but they don’t make one for this model( cougar 8000 either Beretta or Stoeger. I’ve seen another brand mentioned that’s similar, but can’t figure out what brand it was. Thanks for any tips

Talked to a friend who likes Alien Gear Holsters, thinking of trying one of those out. Any experience with the kydex type materials? How is it on the finish?

Call and talk with someone at gunfighters inc.  They will custom make any holster.   You may have to drive over with your gun so they can use it as a template.....that's what they have done with a couple of mine.  Great guys to work with.  Adam and his crew are rock stars.

I’ve heard good things about them. Taking a drive over would be an option. I’m already planning on buying their Kenai holster for a S&W 44 mag mountain gun

Are you looking for a IWD  or OWD holster?

I have a Vetter IWB that I love, and is very comfortable. For OWB I have experience with Safariland paddle holsters and really like them. Wife just got me one for my S&W Shield for Christmas.

I have lots of holsters, the most comfortable IWB I have is the Galco King Tuk, followed closely by Milt Sparks Versa Max II, Cross Breeds are comfortable as well.
OWB it just depends how much concealment you are looking for or how tight you want it to your body, how high you want it to ride, and where you want to carry (3:00-4:00, 5:00-6:00) Galco CopThree Slot and Fletch Paddle are good, so are Ronin Kydex, Disantis Speed Scabard and Fobus Paddle, Blackhawk Serpa II are all good.
You just need to find a few you like. I have not found a single holster that fits every carry option, clothes I am wearing, temperature, etc...

I am probably looking for IWB and either a separate OWB. One of the reasons I was considering the Alien Gear modular system. I've used a paddle style OWB for outdoor use ( Uncle Mike's)  and found it fairly convenient

I appreciate everyone's input
