Lower Valley upland?
« on: November 19, 2018, 12:13:41 PM »
Hi, folks. I'm able to get out to the Lower Valley (lower Yakima river...prosser, sunnyside, granger, etc) somewhat regularly and will be there for Thanksgiving weekend. I've only ever taken advantage of coyote hunting. I'm not very experienced at upland hunting other than grouse in the mountains and I'm dogless, but willing to put in miles. Does anyone have any tips, areas, general information they'd be willing to share? I'd be happy to go after quail, pheasant, or whatever else is available out there!

I understand the challenges of doing this type of hunting without a dog.

I'm not familiar with that specific area but if you get out and beat some cover you will probably kick something up. I hunted for years without a dog. Just gotta be ready at all times.
Have a great weekend.
Lead em if they're running.
