Had a great Holiday/Birthday Weekend. This year my birthday fell on Thanksgiving. Spent the morning before hunting late elk then spent the rest of the day fixing up some decoys and re-rigging some of them. Also finished off my stock of lead into keel grabbers. 6oz and 8oz. I have always stuck to 8oz due to some strong winds and tidal areas but am experimenting with the 6oz to see if they hold for me, if so I will melt the 8oz ones down and make more 6oz. Then hit Bi-Mart on black Friday to stock up on some Fasteel $4 off. I normally shoot 3" 3# 1 1/4oz. But after reading some reviews I wanted to try a box of 1# and some of the 3# 1 1/8oz. Tested the 1# this morning and am very excited about the results when I went this morning. Got 1 shovler drake, my first drake, I got lots of hens over the years but my first shovler drake, pretty bird. Then it got quiet and was solid fog. Finally had a pair of mallards come in on a string about 10AM and dumped them both. Good morning till the pull cord recoil busted on the boat.
Also picked up some paint to get the camo job done on my old rusty Mossberg.
