Late Season Turkey tactic
« on: December 12, 2018, 03:28:05 PM »
Might head over for a day or two of late season turkey in 133 next week with my brother in the Lincoln area. What's the tactic for the late hunt this time of year? Does calling work or is it just locate and hope they come to you?

calling works some, mostly fall season is a ambush type setups.  Walking and locating works too.  You will mostly hear hens.  Sometimes you can get a tom to gobble.  They are not coming off the roost until that sun is up.  Also depends on how cold it is.  I have seen birds stay up in the roost for a while.  Good luck.
