timing
« on: December 20, 2018, 10:02:49 AM »
Got this one yesterday morning.  Coyote distress on the mouth call, and in just a few minutes, she came loping over a hill, about 150 yards out.  Bee line toward me, so I yipped when she was around 75.  She braked, and as I fired, she reversed, and was halfway through the turn-around when the bullet connected.  I think she winded me, as there was a breeze, and it kept shifting on me.  She was looking right at me, but I had been on her with the scope, and wasn't moving at all.  Who knows.  Unfortunately, it was a spine shot, and fur flew everywhere, huge hole....not worth skinning.
Too bad, as she had a good pelt.

That's hunting....

You can always make something smaller with the remaining fur.  I'm working on a hatchet cover made of squirrel fur.
