If you are talking about near sprague I would pass.  I use to fish it about 3 times a week in the winter when it was open.  That last couple years have been miserable out there.  It once was an incredible fishery now not so much.  There are a couple other lakes in the area I would look into instead.

Per my teenage kid who had a 1/2 day of school yesterday, 3-6 inches of snow depending on the direction of the slope.  Ice around the edge which  is not very thick less than 2"  With the forecast it is going to freeze up

I tried Sprague Lake yesterday (1/24) and it is mostly frozen (no fishing for me). Just last week with open water, my wife caught a nice 16" rainbow from the bank.

Alex08, I would try Rock Lake or make the extra drive and try Lake Roosevelt.

Alex08, I neglected to mention Potholes and Banks Lake as well for Winter rainbow bank fishing opportunity. Both produce some very large trout in the Winter and early Spring.
