Bait and Scents finally came today.
« on: January 25, 2019, 05:09:00 PM »
Ok so as the heading says my bait and scent came in mail today.Blackies blend meat 3 (fox coyote cat) it says to use about a walnut sized clump of the bait.it also says to spread it out in the cage for best results.

My question is would you spread this out on say a thin piece of metal and put it under the cage past the pan or in the cage past the pan or upside down toward rear of cage past the pan?

Which would work best in your opinion?

Just keep it off the dirt and keep rain and snow from falling onto it

For cats I'd put it in a styrofoam cup or on a Turkey feather or something like that

Or wrap in a clump of  uncleaned wool and throw it in a back corner

For cats my go too is a chunk of beaver wired in the back ( wired good ) and some straight castor and oil Gland mix and a wing hanging from a tree for eye attraction

I highly recommend Bruce's swim through traps. They are tough and collapsible. They double as bobcat traps. So, you can catch a beaver, then use that beaver as bait in the same trap that you caught it on to catch a bobcat.

for bobcats put the lure on something underneath the trap in a small hole you've dug under the pan, and a call lure up high outside the trap, with a beaver leg in the back. flagging or feathers works good for a sight atractor outside the trap
