Reloading supplies
« on: February 27, 2019, 12:03:18 PM »
Well just my luck.  When I need it I cannot find it.  Looking for an 8lb keg of H-1000.  Any honey holes within an hours drive of Puyallup that I should call?  Sportsmans warehouse both Fed Way and Puyallup are a no go.  Pintos only has 3 one pounders.  Havent tried Sportco, but they are rarely good for powder.  Same with Cabelas and Bass Pro. Any other ideas?  Trying to avoid the 40 dollar hazard shipping cost.

Yeah they are typically my go to, but 100 miles each way I am trying to avoid.

Third generation shooting supply should be as cheap as local even after hazmat and shipping.

Call Firemasters Firearms in Cinebar. I'm pretty sure he had a keg of H1000 when I was down there not to long ago. If he has it and you can't make it down there to pick it up let me know and I may be able to help you out. I've got a couple of drivers who pass through that area every day and one of us may be able to swing by and pick it up for you.

I will give the a buzz tomorrow.  Be a nice drive through some old hunting grounds to get there.  Online looks like 230ish to my door.  See what Firemasters wants and go from there.

I didn’t think of it before, but County Line in McKenna has some hard to find powders every once in a while too.

Order it from Sportsman's Warehouse and have it shipped to the store.  That should be a way around the hazmat fee as SW is shipping it to SW.   See if that works for you.  Saves driving to some other place.

I tried all the recommended locations except 3 Forks in Cle Elum and no one had an 8 pounder.  Going to order online.

Seems like the powder selection at the Puyallup sportsmans has really dried up in the past few months. No more 8lbers and prices have gone up.  Still kicking myself for not buying a jug of rl26 when it seemed to be everywhere though!
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I stopped hunting for 8lber's. Nobody local stocks them so I just keep my old jugs topped off using 1lb jugs.  Blending different batches keeps variations minimal.

I called a customer service rep and asked this question.  They said it was ok to do but was reading from the manual and giving the stock answer.  I know I got a new person.  Info to follow.  I will add that the weekly shipments to stores are via a Sportsman's Warehouse truck and that's how the store gets it's supply of powder.  But info to follow.

I've always wondered if Sportsman's Warehouse would ship powder to the store for free, with an online order like they do with everything else.

Cabela's too. They could sure sell a lot of powder if they would. But might not be enough profit in it for them to care.

Powdervalley was the way to go, $10 off if you sign up, and no hazmat charge if you order today.  So I got an 8 pounder on the way for 198 to my door.

I just paid 219 plus tax at sportsmans today.  Sub 200 is an excellent price.

I couldnt find it anywhere around here, so you were lucky to find an 8lber.
