Well now I don't know what to think; I love the 358 Win, but I'not a fan of the Ruger American.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go 338 Federal though. :dunno:

Nice!  Be a heck of a brush gun.   :tup:  I've had really good luck with Ruger americans.  For the price point they really aren't bad.

It's the bolt lift. All the ones I've shot or handled had a heavy, gritty bolt lift. It just felt like the timing was completely off. All of the one's I've shot were very accurate though, so they've got that going for them.

Theres still some of the special run .358 m77s out there on armslist and gunbroker. Can't stand that basketweave checkering though. Sems like they need a high gloss finish, exaggerated pistol grip and some white plastic diamonds inlaid to complete the look.
