Springtime Wolf Hunting tips
« on: April 03, 2019, 02:29:24 PM »
I'm going back to Idaho to do some scouting in early June. The area we're going to is open until June 30 for wolves. I have never considered hunting wolves other than if I happened upon one while there deer or elk hunting, but I figured if I'm in the woods during the off season, I might as well be packing and ready to knock a dog or two down.

Does anyone have any tips on hunting them this time of year? I'm assuming pup and pup distress calling can be effective if you find animals. Calf in distress calling is probably another bonafide option. Anything else? Only going to have 3 days in the woods, but a guy never knows.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Calf moose in distress has been real effective for some of my friends.  Locate with howls.
