Daughters first Walleye
« on: April 04, 2019, 11:13:04 AM »
I got a new F115 on the boat last week and couldn't wait to get out on the water.  Took my wife and two kids out on Monday to cruise around and throw a rod in the water.  I've never been on this stretch of the river before so I picked a spot that looked good for Walleye and we started trolling some worm harnesses.  I set up my good rod and reel and handed it to my 11 year old daughter.  She has caught bass and trout before but never been Walleye fishing.  She had the rod for ten minutes and she landed a 10lb 2oz beast!!! I couldn't believe it!!  I've been fishing for eyes my whole life and never been over 7lbs!! Lucky girl!  I wish I could say she is hooked but she is terrified of the fish and I barely got her in close enough for a picture!! LOL!
Yes we kept it since it was her first Walleye.  I always put the big gals back but this was a special moment so we ATE HER!!!

Nice!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
