Kifary Lost Park Parka
« on: April 29, 2019, 03:57:31 PM »
Any experience with this jacket? Froze my butt off glassing last year during the late hunt and need something light and durable.

I think durable is my most required attribute.

Any other recommendations for something similar?

I just spent the last 4 days in mine. Merino t-shirt under it and was plenty warm in 39 degree weather. When it go to 30degrees, 25+mph winds and snow, I threw on my hooded fleece midlayer and was able to stay on the Ridge and glass for hours.

I have two. I bought the second in case they stop making them. My favorite piece of layering gear. I've used the heck out of the first one, 60+ days at a bare minimum, and it's held up great. I wouldn't go tromping through brush but for glassing and layering its killer.

Not really similar, but milsurp poncho and liner also fills raingear, pack cover, tarp and woobie role.

Love mine and if something happen to it I would buy another ASAP.  It isn’t the lightest and is bulky but very warm and I believe more durable than most of the other puffy jackets I have seen.  I have had it down into the teens and have always been warm with 1-2 layers under.

It's biggest advantage is its synthetic insulation and being able to stay warm if it gets wet, where with a down puffy you wouldn't.  :twocents:

Rokslide has a great review of the big name synthetic jackets. I recommend reading it.

The parka isn’t what I would call light or quiet but it’s durable and warm.

People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.
