Proud Father of a new Pup
« on: May 06, 2019, 04:15:41 PM »
Maybe someone else was as excited as I was to see my pup work for the first time? My pup is 6mo old started school a month ago and still has two months left. Went for a check in to see what she learned after the first month. Gun broke-check, birdy and can flush birds-check, can retrieve and bring back the bird without dropping it - check. The face at the end of the video I took when the handler got the bird back from her = priceless. Still trying to think of a meme.

Great times. Enjoy that pup. I'm jealous. I can't own dogs because of allergies.

How many dogs does this make for you?

She is being trained at the Kennel/Breeder I picked her up from... Tiger Mountain Pointing Labs in Ellensburg.

This is the sixth lab in my Family since my birth, my second, first Chocolate and first Pointing Lab. This pup is a stud and I pick her up from school in 10 days... anyone that wants to hunt birds with me, just let me know. Would love to find someone that would let her hunt behind/with their dog too.

I'm old and fat and due to allergies, can't own a dog. But I haven't hunted over a good bird dog for years and would love to. Pick me! I also have a fair collection of waterfowl decoys and silhouettes to add to the mix if you want to knock down some geese or ducks next Fall.

She’s growing up so fast!!! Haven’t got her out as much as I’d hope but sure haven’t shorted her. Her fetching up her first goose on this hunt. I definitely had a proud dad moment there. This was not a solo hunt but she was the solo dog. Here first hunt with others, and second hunt from a blind. She did really well in the things I was worried about and not so well on the things I’d thought she’d nail. But hey she’s a pup and learning. Another star moment was her chasing a cripple. She got about 200yds out and my buddy was like “are you going to turn her”. I don’t wanted to see what she’d do. “Can you get her off the other bank?” I guess we’d find out. But as we are discussing she touches the main current and she gives it a big NOPE. Turned around and swam back. Smart, smart girl.
