Bass in Garfield/Asotin Counties

I'm heading to Asotin county this weekend to hunt turkeys and I was wondering if anyone knew of any areas fairly close to main highways to fish for bass from the banks. The only place I know of us a roadside turnout on the Tucannon River, and I don't even know if it's open. I'm not a bass fisherman but I have a tackle box full of good bass plugs, segmented plugs, Rapalas, crankbaits and spinnerbaits that were given to me 25 years ago and I've never even tried them out. I really just wanted to cast these things to see how they work and get a feel for them, and I have a chance at actually catching a smallie all the better. I always release my fish. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've never read the regulations for Bass before in a river  but the snake is a good bet from Clarkston all the way to the Grande Ron.... If I'm reading it right then it is open. Plenty of places to fish.

 Thanks. Two weekends ago I saw a couple of guys walking back to their truck with large fish on stringers, just upstream on the Grande Ronda from Rogersburg. I assumed they were carp, as I didn't see anyone else fishing the GR on that trip. Maybe it was bass? I'll definitely check it out. I didn't get a bird but the rattlers were out😉

There are a ton of smallmouth in the Grand Ronde River. It can easily be fished from shore if the river is not flooded out (which it may be now). You have a potential of 40 fish days from a boat. Find the deep holes under bridges and next to big boulders and pitch a small tube jig or curly tail jig. Don't be afraid of taking some home for the fryer too

I'm just heading out the door from Clarkston. During the afternoon heat yesterday I fished the GR upstream from Rogersburg and caught several smallies on a lead head jig with a rubber "skirt", as well as a giant (to me) whitefish. I appreciate the help.
