Should I or Shouldn't I
« on: June 10, 2019, 01:41:45 PM »
We are going down to Westport for Pirate Daze (the last full week-end of June) and staying ( at the state park) until the 3rd of July. I'm thinking about taking my boat to do some salmon and bottom fishing (need to get the freezer full). Also during that time we will be working on our property cutting down trees, and marking for future building spots. We are going to be going down there every other week-end until we get the place ready to move onto. So here is my question. Should I or shouldn't leave my boat (just the boat no fishing gear), and one of my trucks so I don't have to make two trips every time we go down.

Sounds like it would be a really convenient setup, right up until it's gone.

I would spend the fuel $ saved on some security measures and leave it  :twocents:

without knowing details of your property location, etc.
unless you have good security measures..i wouldn't.
tweakers will take a sawzall to the transom/OS bracket to get a kicker off without even flinching.

The reputation of Westport is reason enough to not do that.  It'll be found to be left and then it'll be stripped and or taken.

Imagine that you're disillusioned with the world and feel a constant pain from your past. You've turned to several different drugs which truly bring you relief, albeit temporary. Your body begins to crave this escape constantly. The drugs are illegal, so you're operating as a criminal before you've even done any actual crime against another person. With that said, you can't keep up your habit with a regular job, but you need money to keep up your habit.

You see a boat and a truck seemingly unused for multiple days. So, you take a sawzall and strip off anything easily sold under the table and subsequently bum out a dude on HW.

I'm kidding, of course. Just check on your coverage/update your insurance policy, put a few security disincentives and don't worry about it.

 :yeah:
I spent a lot of time down there when my brother was a charter captain. I wouldn't even consider it unless extreme measures are taken.

I think I'll just leave the boat at home on this trip. I'll be too busy working on our property. I don't think I would have the time to fish. :'(

Thanks for all the come back folks.
