Tacoma transmission question
« on: June 22, 2019, 10:48:57 PM »
I bought a used 2015 Tacoma <30K miles. The tranny is shown in pictures. Does it look like an original part?  Does anyone know what the green writing might be?

my guess is maybe the stamp number of the guy putting it together?  doesn't look like there's wrench marks on the bolts either, i would say it's probably all original.

in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I was thinking the same thing. Check the bolts close and see if you can tell if they have been wrenched on. But I think its original. Look around, you will probably see other parts with marks on them.

Your pictures are not pictures of a transmission.

Your pictures are of a transfer case that looks to be factory and stock installed. Though that is purely a guess. Someone could have installed a brand new unit clean as a whistle.

Are you thinking it has been replaced yet he seller didn't disclose it?

Car fax mentions nothing. It’s purely my own paranoia. I just haven’t noticed that kind of pen writing before.  Thanks.
