Sons first fishing trip (updated, 2nd trip!)
« on: June 22, 2019, 10:18:24 PM »
Got my son on the water today for his first official fishing trip at just shy of 22 months old. We headed to Jeff Head and caught several small resident coho. They were biting very well when we got there and continued until we left 2 hours later. He thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride, including his two naps. Loved the fish and watching them in the water before netting (which of course resulted in a few lost fish, oh well!).

He did exceedingly well making his way around the boat and waved at every boat that came within visual of us. We then hit Kingston for an early dinner, some ice cream, and then made it back to Everett about 6:30.

I was so happy to have him out there sharing that experience with him. The things that little ones see for the first time remind me how amazing so many things are that we are accustomed to now. Here's to looking forward to many more trips soon!

Thanks for the kind words guys, it really was a great time. Looking back on it, I kind of wish the fishing had been a little slower as I spent most of my time running gear and not focusing on him. So glad Mom was there to help out and play with him. She's not much into fishing, but she excelled at netting and reeling in fish, and keeping Grayson interested in everything. Thanks hun!

How cool is that! Looks like you have a new fishing partner mister; he'll be "borrowing" lures from your tackle box before you know it  ;).  Nice job on the blackmouth also.

That's the good stuff.  Reminds me of fishing with my son when he was a tot.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
