I got burned last year thinking I could get one when I arrived in Idaho like I had the 2 years prior. Ended up watching a few nice bucks wander away. Bought mine with my elk tag in January this year.

Ya i believe everything I seen on fish and wildife websites.............especially WDFW.  I do think Idaho has their stuff together compared to our liberal department.  Best thing WDFW could do is move their HQ out of Olympia.

What I'm saying is when there are 5,000 tags left a guy doesnt need to freak out and buy a tag before he is ready and knows his schedule. When you get weekly updated quota numbers you can sit back if need be and if they start to dip low then snag one up
