Traded for a new HK45
« on: January 28, 2020, 09:36:33 AM »
I've been on the fence for a while, thought about it a lot. I did it yesterday. I let go of my Pre CZ Dan Wesson 1911, for a new HK45. For some reason, I just never carried the 1911 much. I never shot the 1911 much either. It was an extremely accurate 1911 when I did shoot it. I like the HK45 fit in my hand. I like having double action and de-cocker. I like the ease of breakdown and re assemble for cleaning. I do believe I will carry this pistol quite a bit on outdoor activities. I am excited to get to pick it up, this new mandatory background wait sucks for law abiding citizens. Plz chime in with your thoughts. I looked at Sig and FN offerings, and liked the HK by a long shot. My closest friends felt it was a good move and encouraged the trade, as it was mighty hard to let the DW go.

I really like the HK pistols, I think you’ll be very happy with the trade. If the HKs were a little smaller I’d probably still have one. I had a USP compact that I loved, it just wasn’t compact enough. It fit my hand perfectly, pointed well and shot really well.

The pistol that led me to the HK45 was the P30SK. Liking the P30SK so much I looked at the HK45 and just could not get it out of my head.  The P30SK is pretty great for concealed carry during the cooler months. I'm just to chunky to keep it hid well in T-shirt weather. Glad you approve of the trade York, helps me from second guessing so much!

HK makes great pistols, and if you are happy with it, that is all that matters

Which of their 45s did you get? I have a USP 45 and I like it a lot. Comfortable to hold & nice to shoot.

Agree super comfortable. Glad to hear you like your USP 45.

Thanks Alchase, yes...I'm very happy. Hope Grant County gives me the green light soon, would really like to hit the range this weekend.

Brought the HK45 home yesterday! I really like it! Saw 3 antelope on my way home. My first look at WA speed goats. Hope to shoot it some today.
