The liberals are thick on Vashon Island. You should be able to fill your snowflake tag with no problem! Seriously, have you taken Hunter Education? Next, do you know any landowners on Vashon? What kind of hunting - archery, ML, Modern? What game are you after? I don't know much about the area except I know a great biker bar there. Others might chime in if you tell us a little about your plans. Good luck.

Unless you know someone on Vashon, it might be tough. Nows the time to do some scouting. Give us a little more information.

I’ll be doing archery. I have an elk and a deer tag! Hope this gives a little more insight

If you have an archery tag already sounds like you at least know what side of the mountains you want to hunt. If I was brand new to hunting, I'd look at the WDFW harvest statistics for areas on the side I picked, starting with what public land is closest to you. Finding something close will mean more times you can go out and scout the area, looking for sign of the animals(rubs, scat, maybe even an antler or 2). Dont just practice shooting while standing. Shoot on your knees, down on one knee, etc. Shot opportunities come at odd moments.

I also recommend reading Boyd Iverson Blacktail Trophy tactics 2 as it has lots of great BT info.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Join the local shooting range there and make some friends. You'll have way more success than knocking on random doors and getting screamed at by idiot anti-hunters that most likely eat meat.
