Kids and Salmon fishing

Have 2 daughters 11 and 7 and going to book a fall salmon trip on the Columbia.  I know they dont need a license but assume they both need catch cards ? Also is thier limit same as adults  ?

As 2MANY said, yes and yes. You're good to go. Bring a ton of snacks and treats they don't usually get. Make it a special event that they'll remember fondly. The fishing is a big part of it, but all the fringe benefits that go along with it are what really make the trip for the kiddos. Have fun and take lots of pictures!

You may also want to see if the guide can work a few crab pots in if you don't get crab often.

Will be fishing by Hanford,  pretty sure there are no crabs within 100 miles of there 
 
  Also should I tip the guide ? I know when I go out of Westport I throw the bait boy some cash , never done a river trip

Correct. All you need for the kids is the catch card. All you need for you is a freshwater fishing license and a catch card. No Columbia River Endorsement needed any longer.

Assume I have to start an online account @ WDFW for both the daughters to get there catch cards ? Or can they just he bought over the counter at a sporting goods store even though they dont have a license  ?

You can do it online or at the store.  They will get a WILD number generated if they don't have one.  If you do it online, you can have them mailed to your house if you have a week or more before you need them.  Price is the same either way.  Salmon punch cards should be free for kids (they get a free combo license - fresh, salt & shellfish).
