First covey of Sharpies

Been busy getting settled in to our new location in Montana.  But today I took some time to go run a few of the pups. Even though the season is open and I had a shotgun with me I decided to use my blank gun on the first covey of the year.  The dog work was worth it all.

I was just moral support at Scatter Creek. Laura ran two of the Springers and did very well.  I was so busy this year with client dogs that the six I run were not ready at all. So i am getting them ready out here. It has been wetter the Western Wa. over here but that is suppose to end today. Going to head into the Sweet Grass Hills tomorrow to see what the Sharpies are doing up there. I will keep you posted with what I find.

I used hunt up in the sweet grass ( deer and birds)area and over by Chester on the high line
Met a nice Hutterite gal too when I hunted one of the colonies :chuckle:
