Opening Day
« on: September 02, 2019, 08:49:15 PM »
With just 5 days left to opening weekend, I am super pumped to go out this year! I have 2 cameras that I’m just jonesing to retrieve to see what’s going on, and how the pattern has changed over the last 4 weeks. With a super sweet ground blind waiting for me, the days to come can’t come any faster. The plan is to go out for the opener for the weekend, go home to get some work done, and go back mid week for the next 6 days. Did I mention I have an OTC East Side Tag, and did I mention my 14 year old son is archery hunting with me this year...oh yeah, that’s the real reason why I am super excited to go out this year! I have taken my boys hunting (3 Boyz) but this is the first time, and it’s my youngest, to ever hunt with me and have an opportunity to harvest an animal. Yeah the camera may be mine, but the ground blind built is his and the blessings I will have are because of his passion to hunt with his old man. Hope to share the exciting trip with you all, and yes, you sure can bet on one thing around here, there’s a lot of good ole fashion trash talking going on! Good luck everyone, as an old timer once said and still does to this day, aim small, shoot tight, and may your adventures come true!

Wishing you and your son the best of luck!

This is my favorite time of year, out in the woods chasing animals with my oldest boy.

We had a blast together this past weekend with many encounters, but no true spikes in the groups we saw. Will be back out Wednesday night until at least Monday night, should be an epic trip with my son! Here are a couple of photos from the camera.

Glad to see you getting the family out.  I missed the opener due to a death in the family, but heading to NE camp now.  Plan on taking any opportunity presented and hope to get my first archery kill.  With MS tag I will hunt with archery for muzzy season too.  Good luck for rest of season.
