Harvest Moon Impact
« on: September 12, 2019, 10:19:36 AM »
Anyone out there think the Harvest Moon this weekend will impact the elk hunting?  I'm chasing after cows in the Wenatchee forest and am a little worried.

Harvest Full moon on Friday the 13th, what could go wrong??
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

All it means is they may bed down earlier and get up a little later in the evening. It also means that there is usually a spike in mid day activity so going back to camp for a nap at 10:30 or 11:00 isn't a great idea.

IDK about that.  I attended an elk hunting seminar held by a representative from a well know agency, and his response was be sure to be in the woods at sunrise on a full moon night, because for whatever reason elk seem to be active at that time.
