archery spike
« on: November 02, 2007, 12:19:11 PM »
this is the spike I killed in september. he was the 14th bull called into range but the first legal one. the hunt was maybe more fun than any i've ever been on. we had bulls going nuts and running in including a couple 370"-380". we were hoping for cows but since the game dept. gives out way too many tags for modern and muzzleloader, we found 2 between four of us. i think there's something wrong when you find 30-40 bulls, many of them over 350" and no cows in the middle of september, although it is nice to have every bull willing to come in.

Nice elk. Was it on the eastside? Sounds like it was great hunting.
