Looking for late fall Lab pup for Military family
« on: October 10, 2019, 08:47:17 AM »
Not sure if this fits here or if it needs to go in the classifieds but guess I'll start here.

At the beginning of this year, while my younger brother was on deployment in Afghanistan, his 6 year old Lab Darla had to be put down. To say that Michael and Jamie loved Darla would be the understatement of the century. It was a terrible ordeal with Michael on the other side of the world completely helpless to assist Jamie who was stateside taking care of their new baby.

With baby number two on the way, and yet another deployment looming in the next year, they have decided to start looking for a new pup. Jamie wants to surprise Michael with a "christmas-ish" pup.

They are amazing dog owners. They are very active people and Michael as a very fit Army Ranger would run with Darla every day.   A few years ago, in an act of desperation, we got a black lab puppy we probably shouldn't have taken. She is sweet but an absolute monster. The thought of having our poor dog luck has Jamie very nervous about having a monster dog of her own to deal with on top of Michael being deployed and having a toddler and new baby.

So lets get down to why I'm posting.  If you are going to be having a litter or know of a litter, and they are from parents that arent like my dog  :chuckle:, the other Blanchard's are in the market for a fall pup.

I did the trade that Ireland Farms posted 3 years ago at Christmas. I wanted a second lab to go with my older lab. I can’t say enough good things about this dog. Extremely smart and a strong desire to please. Loves everyone. When the older goes, I’ll be getting another from them.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I have some litters coming. I could also do a "started puppy" kind of thing to reduce the burden on his wife while he is gone.
