WY speed goat
« on: January 14, 2020, 10:22:38 PM »
Got max points and want to use them before I get to old to do this hunt. After all the winter kills I’m looking for info on what unit would be the best choice to get a booker. Anyone hunted a good unit recently?

If you have max points I would target the red desert units. I would go 60,61,58 & 57 in that order. You may have to go in the special draw for 60 but should draw the others in the regular draw. If you spend the time there & know what your looking for a booner is very doable.

I hunted 96 in 2018 & took an 80 6/8 in a unit that is not near as good as the ones I mentioned. A friend of my buddy’s in Green River took an 84” in unit 57 that same year to give you an example of what’s possible with some luck & knowledge of what your looking at. That’s the hard part. Good luck!

I’ve seen some huge goats in 60/61.

Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

After the bad winter kill a few years back I’ve heard the trophy quality hasn’t really come back yet
