New To Washington, Elk MR West Side

Hey y’all first time hunting elk. Recently moved to WA and getting used to it all. Spent the last 4 days dragging ass all over Elbe Hills and only got a few signs and tracks but no visuals and no bugling. Anyone available on the west side elk hunting for some mentor ship or something. I’m a quick learner and open to traveling. Thanks I’m advance!

Can't help any on the mentorship, don't hunt west side. In general though you won't hear much bugling this time of year as the rut is done and the elk have been hunted for nearly 2 months now. They're pretty quiet. Probably won't see many standing out in the open either especially in the blue bird weather we've been having. Off the road, in the oldest timber patch you can find is the best place to start.

East side is more open and easier to find animals, but the majority of those units are spike only, so your trading visibility for fewer legal targets. Its definitely 6 of one half dozen the other. No golden ticket.
