Huntable lakes
« on: November 18, 2019, 09:54:18 PM »
Hello I’m new to Washington and live in Western Washington near Seabeck. I’m having a hard time finding out which lakes are huntable. I’m not asking for any hunting spots but just some lakes that I’m able to hunt out of. Thanks in advance for anyone that helps!

I'm not from that side but I have found contacting either you're local LEO or even the regional office is very helpful. It's also better to ask actual people who know and not some random person online.

That was my plan if I couldn’t get enough information on here. I appreciate the reply.

WDFW publishes firearms restriction areas by county, I would start there.  Google Earth or Maps will show whether there are houses or other buildings that would restrict where you could shoot.  Next step would be to ensure there is public access to the lake to either launch a boat or access the shore.  Once I did all of that, the local warden would be a good place to try.

If you go out there Saturday morning, you will likely see what lakes are currently hunted.

Finally, Googling the lake's name and words like waterfowl, hunting or the like could turn up additional information.

sometimes you also need to check the applicable county's municipal codes for additional restrictions.  This is something the local county sheriff's office would know about as it's under their jurisdiction.
