Son needs a compound bow

Looking for ideas...my son who is 10 1/2 and fairly big and strong for his age (basically 5' 101#) needs a new bow. He has been using a Goblin (basic bow) for a few years. I am not a bow hunter...but his is pretty good with the one he has. Not looking to spend crazy money want a more legitimate bow for him to target practice with as we are on acreage. Any suggestions would be helpful. If you happen to have a used one that would fir him and are relatively near me (Snohomish County area) I would purchase one used as well.

I have a browning one he can have if wanted.....Prob needs a new string at least.

Really a diamond edge sbe-1 is a fine bow for any youth. It’s adjustable from like 23”-31”, 7# to 70# and tunes nicely. Once he’s pulling 60_70 pounds comfortably let him drop some real cash on a flagship bow. His strength will grow so fast any flagship bow he gets now will be to week in a few years.

I bought a Hoyt Ignite a few years back for my son's and it's a great beginner bow with a ton of adjustment for a fair price.

I’m in almost the exact same situation as the OP. I heard good things about the ignite as well. Are you in 4H archery meeting in Monroe?

My new shooting buddy has a Mission Craze and it's adjustable up to hunting weight, so he can increase the weight over time as his strength increases.

I got a 2016 Mathews halon 32 comes with everything but a sight and arrows and will get the different mods for draw length if need and can be turned down to 50lbs. I can fluctuate on the price too

Id say go with a diamond unless you get a donation or great deal, He will be able to grow all the way up into those bows being as what, one bow ranges 15-65#.
Im not a diamond fan but for new comers, There really isn't anything that can beat these IMO.

Anything quality brand name that’s adjustable to his draw length and weight that he wants to shoot will be good. Even better if you can get a quality used bow to keep costs down. Most importantly, the game doesn’t care what brand it is.

I just purchased a PSE Stinger Extreme for my son. He's 12 years old. The stinger is adjustable from 20lbs to 60-70lbs and has a big range for draw length as well. Kits come with quiver, whisker biscuit, 3 pin fiber optic sight. Good deal! He'll have it for 10 years at least if not longer.
