Shot and a miss
« on: January 02, 2020, 10:37:07 AM »
Well,

Not really sure what to say. Called in two dogs the other night, about 85-100 yards from us. Friend was on the left and I was right. End result is you can see my impact to the left, I am thinking I leaned on my tripod and it settled. I use American defense QDs and had just put the thermal back on this rifle, and changed the profile back. I am unable to reshoot to verify, I have confidence though, it wasn't my zero.

Also, mostly a head on shot, not sure on the angle of the impact we see, I cannot see it being a foot off when my elevation was still good.

Partner shot at the other one, both seemed to at least get away.

Thought I would share

Good job on calling 2 dogs in, personally never hunted coyotes at night, i bet its fun. Things have happened like missing coyotes, when i miss a coyote i feel bad for about half a day and i move on. Recently called a coyote for my son, perfect set up perfect weather, perfect stand. He took a shot and coyote ran away. Good luck on your stands!!!
