westside raffle
« on: January 29, 2020, 05:01:28 PM »
I'm considering purchasing some of the raffle tickets for westside elk. It says any unit open to bull hunting except for unit 485. I was wondering if that would include some of the units that are draw only like the white river unit?

Yes.

Yes, if there is a draw permit, then its a unit open to bull hunting.

The Eastside raffle permit would be the worst possible choice if you wanted to dump a bunch of pocket change into killing a giant Roosevelt bull.

I'm thinking more along the lines of killing any decent bull elk lol. I probably have the WORST luck when it comes to elk hunting and am just looking for ways to increase my odds. I do however know of a couple good spots in a couple units that are open to draw tag elk hunting only and not very many tags are given out every year. I mean.. odds can't be any worse than actually drawing the tag/s in this state right?

its very sad. I don't have as many points as some people... but when I have 7-8 points for quality bull and any bull elk and hear about people drawing with 1-2 points, it kinda ticks me off. I know people who have 15+ points and still aren't drawn. Some of them are about to say the hell with it and go to another state!

I see myself heading that way in 4-5 years probably. As i sits I can't invest a week or 2 of being that far away from home since I have a 5 month old daughter now and we are still talking about having another kid in a year or so. Thats mainly my choice because of how this state is heading with all the junkies and such.. no where is really safe anymore in this state.
