What's up with this beaver

Well I doing a complaint job and I caught this beaver today.
Nice size critter except its feet were all peeling.  I have =never seen this in all of my years of beaver trapping.
It must me a bug eating at it or he is chewing on them for some reason.
I seen this over in Eastern Washington while trapping muskrats.  When the water warmed up a bug (mite or flea) was on them.

Was it caught in a stagnant farm pond ? I caught one last year not as bad as that but similar in a runoff pond that was really bad water

Nope it was in a stream   :dunno:  It dammed it up and flooded the property
I caught two this was the only one like this.

See this a lot at lower elevations on the Eastside. Lincoln and Grant County IME.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

about half of the muskrats we caught in a swamp in western WA this year had feet with skin gone like that.

I ended up skinning it and I think it was just spoiled. Not that it was dead too long. I think it was in contact with some mud that had some kind  high level of bacterial action in it. Possibly causing heat build up along with the bacteria. My theory anyway.
I think there was nothing wrong with the beaver It was where it died.
