Please don’t criticize as this is his right of passage.
We’re low on meat and my 14-year-old grandson goes for a walk and comes back with dinner. First time/ first kill. I didn’t think he could really do it but he was taught to process the bird today- which he did!
look at dinner!
I’m so proud and guess what we’re having for dinner?!?!

Got a reply from the lady who posted the FB post:

Teresa Moore Fred Moyer he didn’t know it wasn’t hunting season or anything about hunting season. He just knew that we’ve only a couple days meat left and there’s a turkey. He has been school about licenses now- thank you.

Yeah, well maybe that should have been looked into.  Everybody knows hunting seasons exist.  Hell, i knew such a thing existed since i was a kid, exposed to the timeless argument of wabbit season vs duck season.

Makes you wonder were the supply of meat they are running low on came from  :dunno:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
