threaded barrel question
« on: May 29, 2020, 06:27:29 AM »
Looking to pick up a couple threaded barrels.  two questions.

1.  I am new to the 1911 world.  Is it safe to assume that barrels are interchangeable across manufactures?  Looking for a threaded barrel that will work in a Ruger SR1911-6736 (Target) 5 inch barrel.  I am assuming this is the "Government" frame, but I am not positive - anyone know how to tell?
2.  Does anyone know if they make aftermarket barrels for the Ruger America Pistol in 45 Auto?  I am not seeing them listed anywhere on my usual haunts.

Thanks

Are the 1911 parts interchangeable across manufacturers (like AR-15's are)?

Grips are , everything else will probably require fitting .
Anyone that thinks a Glock is better than a 1911 paints his toenails.
