Cool. May want to consider hiking into the Sawtooth Wilderness. Have seen a few bruisers in there just walking the trail.

And not to be a downer, but really put your time in scouting. That unit and the entire area is hurting bad for mule deer. When I was young (twenty years ago), I saw mule deer bucks all the time in that valley and on the ridges. The pickings are much more slim now. Best of luck work hard and hope you tag a nice one!

I have hunted this unit 20 years. I always thought it would be my quality pick. But the last few years it has really gone down. The last few guys that drew it came home empty or struggled to fill the tag.

Don’t wa t to rain on your success. Can be good if you get some snow. We will be in there this year too. Because well it’s our spot success or not.

Good luck

Check in closer to your hunt might have some intel.

Took many nice bucks up Virginia ridge, Wolf creek on up to Gardner meadows growing up that end of the Methow. There are a few big bucks ledt, but not as many as 40-50 years ago. Scout it good👍

Thanks everyone! I have hunted this unit general season every year of my life as i am from Twisp. Hunting is a lot slower than it used to be but we manage a few nice bucks every year. I am pumped to get the opportunity to hunt it in November! Id like to connect with other tag holders too so if anyone else has this tag please message me.

I hunted this unit for several years, deer are there. Think outside the box. Gotta put the miles on and be smart and you will find deer. Sometimes wolves  :chuckle:
