Any Blackstone (or outdoor griddle) Users?
« on: July 06, 2020, 12:12:09 PM »
Just bought a blackstone grill and love it!!  Any cleaning tips?  It seems pretty easy but I am having a hard time getting used to scraping it with the spatula.  But..  Maybe I'm late to the game but man those things are cool...

Just got one for fathers day, I followed the break in procedure, did it about 5 times.  When I'm done cooking I turn up the grill to high and when it's hot I use water, I bought a steel, strong spatula from amazon but they have the same one at walmat.  This particular spatula has a guard on it so you don't burn your finger when your spreading the hot oil, yup, did that twice before I bought this.  so scrape off all the food with the water, then I let the heat cook off any moisture.  Then while it's still hot and the water is gone, I add and spread a little bit of oil to it, I let it smoke off then turn it off.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

thanks Trophy, exactly what I've been doing..  Just seems crazy you can scrape them with the spatula..  So far I love it..  How do you like your?  Anything you've cooked you liked?  I did a pretty good batch of stir fry, some chicken philly sandwiches, some burgers and of course several rounds of breakfast..  So far this thing is awesome.

Nice!!!! Your gonna love it.  I got the 36” pro about 3 week ago. Playing with your food is so much fun😂😂😂 Tacos, stir fry, breakfeast, brats, burgers, philly cheese, and ribeye. All turned out pretty good. For me ribeyes need to be cooked on charcoal grill.

So I got a table top 17 inch for fathers day. Supper fun to cook with but different for sure. I am buying the cover for mine (lid). Have made great burgers and toasted cheese sandwiches though  My Nephew has a full sized one and makes wicked fried rice and pheasant...the options are really endless!!!

Makes elk burgers awesome too. Keeps the moisture in better than a grill. The more you use it the better it cooks. Keep seasoning it with bacon grease, butter or oil as it cools and pretty soon it will be as good as any non-stick pan.

BTW, I switched back to cast iron a few years ago inside the house and will never go back.

I've been cooking bacon on it every couple days to bake in some seasoning..  I have not tried steaks yet and agree you can't beat charcoal.  that said, for a cheap option vs 700+ dollar grill I'm happy.  Got the 28 adventure for 175.  How do you guys do steaks?  I saw blacklab was using a rack?  How did that turn out?

Caveman I seared the steaks on both sides. Then put on the rack with a lid to finish cooking😉🥃🇺🇸

Love mine, just got it so I need to try more recipes. I ordered a cover for it though, hate the fact that it’s open to all the pollen, floaters , bird poop and anything else that gets stuck on the grill when not in use.

Thanks Blacklab..  I'll give that a shot.

Trophy.  I'm looking for a cover as well but they are all sold out everywhere.  Going to just get a generic soft one for now.  Luckily i have a covered patio so it's not too bad

i built a cover out of a piece of plywood and some 1x4's for sides  kina bulky, but if you leave it exposed, you will have bugs, dog hair, pollen and rust pretty quickly,  the moisture in the air will get it rusty.  i love doing breakfast, can do a lb of bacon pancakes and eggs all at one time for a saturday morning with the family  another good one is fried rice, like the restaurants you go to where you sit at the cook top, i cant do the fancy tricks, but i sure try to.

Just had to bring this thread back to life.
.
Have had the 17" griddle for a couple years now.
I use it a lot and love it.
.
But, today at Wal-Mart they had the 36" cook station on clearance, $100.
.
No chance I was passing that up!
.
Really looking forward to using it.
.
It's just that most of my griddle/outdoor cooking involves camping.
Almost seems like a waste to have it for a porch decoration.
.
The box, itself, takes up half my cargo space.
.
I am thinking I might have to build a trailer to haul it up to camp...
.
Already tasting huckleberry pancakes with bacon, eggs, and peanut butter, smothered in real maple syrup...
.
My favorite breakfast, or lunch...

Got a link or was that in store only? Just checked online and did not see it.

I’d be interested if there was a link, too
