COUGAR.....NOT 328, 368 BUT 328-368
« on: April 13, 2009, 01:06:09 PM »
there might be an error in the regs i just dont know about how to clarify it.
has anyone called and talked to the guys at WDFW.

In the cougar general seasons I believe it is supposed to say 328-368

There is a comma instead of a dash similar to the special hunt permit area also attached…..

 :dunno:
Anyone else see that.....

Just sent an email to WDFW to have them clarify.

This is part of the document attatched to an email I received today about cougar seasons. The email is below, and when I can figure out how to get the document from email to here I will do so.

WAC 232-28-287 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012 Cougar permit seasons and regulations

A. Agency reason for adoption:
Maximize recreational hunting opportunities for black bear and cougar within biologically sustainable limits.

B. Changes, if any, from the text of the proposed rule and reasons for difference:
For hunt area in the Kittitas-Yakima hunt, change from “GMUs 328, 329, 342-368” to “GMUs 328-368.” The reason for the change is to correct for GMU omissions.

C. Agency responses to written and oral comments:
None

Dear Wildlife Enthusiast,

Attached is the Concise Explanatory Statement for the 2009-2011 hunting seasons adopted by the Fish and Wildlife Commission at their April 3-4, 2009 meeting in Olympia.  This statement explains the changes the Commission has made regarding the 2009-2011 hunting seasons.  Before the adoption by the Commission, you were notified of the Department’s recommended changes that were posted on our website.

 REMINDER AND NEW THIS YEAR:

The deadline for submitting special permit applications is earlier and is now Wednesday, May 20.  To accommodate this, the 2009 Big Game Hunting Seasons and Regulations pamphlet is available online and at license dealerships throughout the state.  This year the pamphlet is available nearly one month earlier than in the past, so that you may plan vacations and submit your permit applications.

Thank you for your interest in Washington’s wildlife.

 Sincerely,

Wildlife Program
