Although I haven't tried this yet, I'm told a good "Cheap" option is to bring an old digital camera, remember we all had then until cell phones became everyone camera.  Anyway, just put the SD card in the old camera and scroll through the pics.

Myself, I'm now a two card per camera guy these days.  Get to my camera and swap cards and get out.  To much time to take and sit looking at the pics, have to many other places to go and swap more cards out.

Just remember not all cameras will open with some cams file types.

I've never filled up a 16g card. I don't use the video defying too often though.

Another important thing to consider is the class of the card.  If your trying to transfer/upload a few thousand pictures a class 10 sd card will be way faster than a class 4.

Another important thing to do is format your card to the camera. I reccomend formatting your card everytime, even if it's a brand new card right out ofv the package. Once it's in the camera look for a "format" option. If your camera doesn't have that option it will probably have a "delete" or "delete all" option or something similar that will format the card. Theirs nothing worse than having a corrupt card after a month long soak!
