Quigley-Ford Scopes
« on: July 31, 2020, 12:00:40 PM »
I am not a reloader, I find a round I like and stick with it. I have been reading about and following these scopes for about the past two years.  But I was rather apprehensive to spend the monies they are asking for them. My loyalty has been to Leopold but after ordering their VX5 and waiting for 6 months and getting nothing but excuses on why I haven't received it I canceled my order to give Quigley-Ford a try. Dealing with them was a total pleasure, I even received a call from the CEO confirming my order.  I placed my order on July 22nd and was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks to go through customs (coming from Canada). It arrived today just 9 days later. So this weekend I am going to have some fun getting it dialed in and popping some gophers.
This one will be going on my X-bolt 6.5 using the Hornady 143 ELD-X.  I will keep you all posted on what I think of it. If it does half as good as their customer service I will be very happy and you will be seeing some VX3's coming up for sale on here.

You like Reticle ranging scopes ?  Nothing wrong with them with enough practice they are tough to beat which is why the military uses ones like the horus reticle .

I've tried them and prefer dialing the turret.  Its just more accurate for me.  I can't shoot 6" groups at cold bore 965 yards with a reticle scope but can with turrets.   I used to use a Shepherd dual plane scope but found that past 500 yards I couldn't get the accuracy I could with dialing turrets.  With practice though it should be a lot easier than dialing turrets if you can get the accuracy.

Looking forward to hearing how you like it.

.p.s.  did you try to order from Leupold directly ?   They have at times very slow customer response time and tracking systems.
