I was too high for cherries. Not sure what they were eating. Stripping bark I think.

I didn't study it. I was about 6000 feet so not used to cherries that high. Mountain ash in the hood. I watched the cub strip a big piece of bark and eat it.

I found a lot of bear peels up high last weekend. 5500' or so. First time every really paying attention to them and was surprised by how many I saw.

I think alot of the berry crop froze. When I was in the cherries down low, there were an acute lack of them where there are usually lots. No bears either.

Lots of berries where we were, but all 3+ weeks from being ripe. They're definitely taking advantage of other food options right now.
