Lets see your pics, tails, wings, There R 2 types here in Washington state...{RED PHASE,GRAY PHASE.
One type {the gray phase] is in Eastern Wa. in Desert terrain, ripparan broken with highland dry timber to the lower deserts, Have shot them many a time....it's just a matter of hiking AND doing one's HOMEWORK

idk know how to post photos, but I got lucky today on a nice big hen. Cinnamon tail feather band, deep brow rump and back feathers with the beautiful white spotting. Hazelnut, black and white barring on the breast feathers. Shot in western Washington, in the edge of a super brushy alder dominated wetland. First of the season, and hopefully first of many to come. Pushed the 20 gauges limit at a 30 yard shot. Had to hit it twice because it was tried to run off when it hit the ground
