Has anyone gone to the Mazama area this week? How're the conditions there? Too smoky?

Check out the WSDOT cameras around Winthrop. That should give you a good idea. Not at  night of course :)

There's some Winthrop cams online you can view

My folks said it's kind of smoky but not as bad as some/most years. Real descriptive I know  :dunno:  :chuckle:

Thanks for all the responses. Please keep them coming especially if you're in the area or were there earlier this week.

It's currently not awful but is bad enough that I'm not getting out for grouse this weekend.  Take a look at some of the smoke forecast websites before you come.  As I'm sure you are aware it doesn't take much of a wind shift to potentially change the air quality dramatically.  For perspective from Winthrop I can currently see Mt. Gardner but there have been a few times this week where visibility was bad enough that I couldn't

Moderate smoke as of Tuesday and I think it was better from Friday to Sunday and then it started rolling in again.
